Registration

The MANDATORY tournament registration will be held on Thursday, August 30 and Friday, August 31, 2007 in Columbia, Maryland.
Certified 2007/2008 rosters, player passes, medical release forms (Note: medical release forms DO NOT have to be notarized) and Permission to Travel forms (if applicable) will be checked at this time. All players must have a player pass for 2007/2008 approved by a duly authorized registrar of their state association or US Club Soccer. Each team must bring 2 copies of their roster to registration.

All teams are required to register on Thursday or Friday. Any team that does not register on Thursday or Friday will forfeit their games.

OBGC Soccer invites your team to apply to play in our 10th Annual Labor Day Soccer Tournament --newly named the OBGC Capital Cup (formerly Washington Fall Classic) to be held September 1-3, 2007.

This premier event is played in Olney and Columbia, which are conveniently located forty-five minutes from the Mall in the nation's capital and the Inner Harbor in Baltimore.

Most U11-U16 full-sided games will be played at the two newest and finest soccer complexes in Maryland: Freeman Fields at OBGC Park and the Northrop Fields at Covenant Park; small-sided games will be played on high-quality local fields.

The OBGC park opened for play in 2002. Our meticulous fields were constructed by the same firm that built the Soccerplex and are being professionally maintained. The Northrop fields at Covenant park opened in September 2004 and include 8 premier playing fields.

Eligibility The tournament is open to League and Premier teams. RECREATIONAL TEAMS AND PLAYERS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE.

USYS Sanctioned Tournament The OBGC Capital Cup (formerly Washington Fall Classic) is open to league and premier teams. The tournament is a USYS-sanctioned tournament through the Maryland State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA). All teams must be affiliated with either USYS or US Club soccer and must be in good standing with their state association or US Club Soccer. Age Group divisions are for the 2007/2008 seasonal year.

US Club Soccer - US Club soccer teams are invited to apply!

Application/Fees/Acceptance A separate online application for each team must be submitted by July 15,2007.

The registration certificate along with the entry fee of $525 for U9-U10 (7v7)U11-U12(8v8),$675 for U11-U12(11v11), $725 U13-U16 must be post marked by July 15, 2007.

Notice of acceptance and non-acceptance will be sent by August 1, 2007.

Age Group/Length of Games The USYS seasonal year starts September 1st of each year. Age Groups and corresponding birth dates for the 2006/2007 seasonal year are:

* Note: U11-U12 game format to be selected on your registration. We are offering both small sided (8v8) and full sided (11v11) competition formats.

Tournament Roster/Guest Player Policy Maximum number of players on a team's tournament roster is 18 for 11v11 play, and 14 for 7v7 and 8v8 play.

Teams requesting to use guest players may have no more than 18 players, whose number may include up to 3 guest players. U9 and U10 teams and U11 teams playing 8v8 may have no more than 14 players, whose number may include up to 3 guest players.

Format/Competition/Rules/Awards The tournament offers divisions for U9 through U16 boys and girls.

Minimum of three games is guaranteed.

Qualifying matches will be played Saturday and Sunday morning with finals on Monday.

Boys and Girls U11-U12 may register for either 8v8 or 11v11. 7v7 and 8v8 will be played on 50x80 fields with 6x18 goals.

All games shall be played in accordance with FIFA Laws, except as specifically modified by Tournament Rules. A complete set of rules will is posted on the tournament website.

Individual player trophies will be presented to all champions and finalists.

Referees USSF three man referee system will be used for all U11 through U16 games (11v11 format).

Registration Team registration will be from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, August 31st. Certified 2007/2008 rosters, player passes, Non-NOTARIZED medical release forms and Permission to Travel forms (Only teams from outside Region I, NJ and CT teams need permission to travel forms) will be checked at this time. All players must have a player pass for 2007/2008 approved by a duly authorized registrar of their state association or US Club Soccer.

Hotel Accommodations Out-of-state teams requiring overnight hotel accommodations are required to stay at OBGC accepted hotels and use our hosting tournament housing service. This will ensure that teams receive the highest quality service during the tournament.

Tournament Cancellation Policy In the event the entire tournament is cancelled, the tournament's policy is to refund entry fees after costs are covered.
